One large Greencorner umbrella can replace 3-4 ordinary round umbrellas, while delivering significantly more protection within the same amount of space. Unlike small round canopies, Greencorner umbrellas offer consistent protection throughout the day - full coverage, sunrise to sundown, without the need to adjust the umbrella or move chairs to “follow the shade”.
The simple truth is that larger rectangular designs are more stable, more reliable, and offer greater weather protection than smaller round umbrellas - all the features businesses need to enjoy their canopy purchase on a long term basis.

Why square and rectangular canopy shapes instead of round? Square and rectangular canopies offer significantly greater shade coverage than their round and octagonal cousins. Where a typical 10' diameter round umbrella only offers 78 square feet of shade, our 10'x10' square market umbrella delivers 100 square feet of shade - 25% more protection for the same overall diameter. The advantage becomes more evident as the size increases: our larger 10'x13' umbrella provides a whopping 130 square feet of weather protection!

Do your umbrellas tilt? As the sun moves through the sky, the shade provided by a smaller round canopy moves around. Tilt mechanisms allow the umbrella to be adjusted to provide the best overall shade coverage for the time of day.
The large size and rectangular shapes of Greencorner canopies eliminate this problem entirely, so there was no need to include often fragile or needlessly complex tilt systems in our umbrella design. The result is a simpler, more reliable and more stable product.

Are your large umbrellas easy to put up? Do we have to crank it? Greencorner umbrellas offer a pulley-based lift system, making it easy for almost any adult to open and close a Greencorner market umbrella. While a crank seems convenient at first glance, our experience is that a crank lift system is usually too fragile for long term commercial use, particularly when lifting the heavier, larger and more durable umbrellas we produce. What type of Fabric do you use? Quality canopy fabric is a major distinguishing factor in a good market umbrella. We purchase canvas for Greencorner umbrellas from leading manufacturers such as Sunbrella, Dickson and Sundown, firms that specialize in producing fabrics in varying grades for outdoor use.
Unlike most umbrella manufacturers, who use furniture-grade fabric as their standard, Greencorner canopies feature the finest marine and awning-grade 100% acrylic canvas, fabric created specifically for sailboats and heavy awnings. Color is added via solution-dying, a process in which dye is added during the manufacturing process to the acrylic fibers while the fibers are still in a liquid state. Experience has shown us that this process is key to locking in the color, facilitating easy cleaning and keeping your umbrella beautiful for years.

What about fading and mildew? I am tired of replacing ugly canopies each year. Greencorner canopies feature marine-grade fabric originally created for sailboats, guaranteed to resist fading, moisture, rot and mildew. We cover our products with a 5-year manufacturer's limited warranty to ensure that you enjoy your brightly colored Greencorner market umbrellas for many years.

Is your canopy water proof? Our marine-grade fabric is not waterproof; it is water repellent, treated with a highly effective fluorocarbon water repellent finish during the manufacture process. What about UV protection? The fabrics used in Greencorner market umbrellas have been tested and proven to provide up to 98% UV protection against the sun's harmful effects, depending on depth of color (equivalent to SPF 50 protection). White and lighter colored fabrics provide less protection than darker fabrics, due to the difference in color depth. Which base is right for me? Greencorner umbrellas are made from sturdy, high quality materials that provide durability and stability - but which are also heavy. Your market umbrella must be secured properly with an appropriate base for the environment in which the umbrella will be used.
For most commercial applications, or in windy conditions, we recommend our heaviest base: the B24, made of heavy steel and featuring an attractive powder-coated finish.
To minimize shipping costs, our cross-frame B33 base can be installed using 4 standard-sized pavers purchased from any home improvement store.
For a more permanent installation, we suggest the B6 - a steel sleeve with a small plate, which can be bolted directly to a deck or concrete patio.
